RULES COMMITTEE AMENDMENT PROCESS FOR

H.R. 2868 – Chemical Facility Anti-Terrorism Act of 2009  

Dear Republican Colleague: 

The Rules Committee has announced that it will meet the week of November 2, 2009 for the consideration of H.R. 2868, the Chemical Facility Anti-Terrorism Act of 2009. The bill was introduced on June 15th and was referred to the Committees on Homeland Security, Energy and Commerce, and the Judiciary.  

The Majority has announced an amendment deadline for this bill of 6:30 PM on Monday, November 2, 2009. If any Republican Member is interested in offering an amendment to this bill, my staff is prepared to assist you in ensuring that your amendment is properly drafted by the Office of Legislative Counsel and that it complies with the rules of the House. In this manner, the Republican Members of the Rules Committee can better coordinate your efforts to make your amendment in order.    

In addition to filing your amendment with the Majority, please e-mail your amendment and a brief summary to my staff member, Shane Chambers (Shane.Chambers@mail.house.gov) by the Majority’s announced deadline of 6:30 PM on Monday, November 2nd.
