RULES COMMITTEE AMENDMENT PROCESS FOR

H.R. 3639 – Expedited CARD Reform for Consumers

Act of 2009

The Rules Committee has announced that it will meet the week of November 2, 2009 for the consideration of H.R. 3639, the Expedited CARD Reform for Consumers Act of 2009. The bill was introduced on September 24th and was referred to the Committee on Financial Services.  

The Majority has announced an amendment deadline for this bill of 11:30 AM on Tuesday, November 3, 2009. If any Republican Member is interested in offering an amendment to this bill, my staff is prepared to assist you in ensuring that your amendment is properly drafted by the Office of Legislative Counsel and that it complies with the rules of the House. In this manner, the Republican Members of the Rules Committee can better coordinate your efforts to make your amendment in order.
